Ingalls Publishing Group, Inc. publishes from 2 to 4 new books each year. We are not accepting any new manuscripts until June 2008. At that time we will only accept manuscripts that have a Southeastern US regional flare preferably set in the Appalachian Mountain region. We are looking for fiction with an unusual protagonist that could be part of a romance/suspense or mystery series. A strong regional setting is important to the story. We will consider a story with an interesting historical or supernatural/fantasy background as well.
We are not interested in spy thrillers or any books with graphic violence, sex, or foul language.
We have a small staff. Manuscripts will be read, but not by a particular editor. They may also be partially read by the marketing department. All decisions are made by board approval. A manuscript may take up to two months to be reviewed.

- If applicable, please include a link to your Website.
- Initially send us a query letter with a synopsis maximum of 2 pages. We will request a manuscript if interested. Please do not send any manuscripts unless requested.
- Manuscripts should be typed and double-spaced.
- Clear photocopies are acceptable.
- CD formats are acceptable.
- Works of moderate length: 50,000 to 100,000 words.
- If you wish to have a response, be sure to provide a stamped self-addressed envelope.
