Born in New Jersey, Glenn Woods actually grew up in the south, on Sanibel and Captiva islands Florida. There his mother was a manager at Ballies General Store and for a few years the family owned and operated Twin Palm Cottages on Captiva Island. As a young man Glenn acted at the Pirate Playhouse Theater at its old location in a former schoolhouse.
Since then Glenn has been a DJ, a morning radio show host, and a network talk show host. He even traveled for a few years as a stand up comic working local comedy clubs.
In 1998 Glenn left Tampa, took a job in Gainesville Florida hosting a morning radio show, and began homecaring his father who suffers from Alzheimer's. In a few years he was no longer able to leave his father at home alone, and so quit his job to care for him full time. “It is then that I decided to become a writer,” said Glenn. “I’ve dreamed of it since I was six years old.”
Glenn and his Father, and their cat Wyoming, spent their winters in Williston Florida, and their summers at their family cabin in the mountains of Ashe County North Carolina Alzheimer's took Glenn's father, July 4th, 2005. He now lives at the family cabin, built by his father, where he keeps warm by the woodstove and writes.
